ASEAN Unveils 2045 Vision: Our Shared Future
ASEAN has unveiled its first 20-year vision, ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future, demonstrating its long-term strategic planning. The vision builds on the success of the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, aiming to elevate ASEAN to new heights through deeper integration, sustainability, and resilience.
ASEAN's growth is evident in its increasing GDP, now at 3.8 trillion US dollars, making it the fifth largest economy globally and poised to become the fourth largest by 2030. This economic prowess is supported by key achievements under the ASEAN Community Vision 2025, including enhanced regional integration, establishment of the ASEAN Smart Cities Network, and progress in innovation and technology.
ASEAN 2045: Our Shared Future expands on these successes, focusing on deeper integration, sustainable development, digital transformation, inclusivity, and resilience. It prioritises the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP) for concrete cooperation and strengthens ASEAN's institutional capacity for successful realisation of the vision. The vision also aims to reinforce ASEAN Centrality in the region and deepen its partnerships with external parties.
