Boot Camp Training Programs, labeled as PEN-200, set to launch in Australia and New Zealand

In an effort to address the growing demand for penetration testers in Australia and New Zealand, Tesserent Academy, ALC Training, and OffSec have partnered to offer PEN-200: Penetration Testing with Kali Linux (OSCP Certification).

PEN-200 is a comprehensive training programme designed for existing IT professionals and those in the early stages of their penetration testing careers. The training uses Kali Linux, a popular operating system for penetration testing, and aims to secure a role in penetration testing for professionals and enhance the skills and knowledge of those already in the field.

The Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) is a highly sought-after technical ethical hacking certification, and PEN-200 is associated with this certification. The OSCP requires evidence of practical penetration testing skills, making it one of the few ethical hacking certifications that truly tests a candidate's abilities.

The collaboration between Tesserent Academy, ALC Training, and OffSec will see more than 100 students participate in live training boot camps across Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, and Wellington. Additionally, an expected 200 students will take on the self-paced learning package of PEN-200 over the coming year.

The five-day intensive boot camps offer hands-on experience and mentorship, ensuring participants understand the theoretical aspects of cyber security and gain practical, real-world experience. Students have up to 12 months to undertake the exam after the boot camp.

Tesserent CEO Kurt Hansen stated that PEN-200 aims to help address skills shortages and meet high industry demand for penetration testers in Australia and New Zealand. OffSec's David Zhao added that the expansion of PEN-200 will help alleviate skills shortages and meet the demand for penetration testers as Australia works towards achieving the goal of being the most cyber secure nation by 2030.

PEN-200 training costs AUD$7,500 per student, including a five-day boot camp, 12 months of self-paced content, and two exam attempts. With the demand for penetration testers on the rise, PEN-200 offers a valuable opportunity for professionals to enhance their skills and secure a role in this exciting and essential field.
