Canada Tops International Students' Choice in 2025 Survey
Canada remains the top choice for international students, according to the Spring 2025 edition of the Student Pulse Survey. The country has seen a surge in interest, with 94% of future students expressing some level of interest in Canada.
The survey, published by the Institute of Public Relations (IPR) at KIT, reveals that Canada's appeal lies in several key factors. Affordable tuition fees, high graduate employment rates, relevant programs, quality teaching, and strong reputations are the top considerations for future students.
Canada's dominance is evident in its weighted average, placing it at the top of the list of study destinations. It outshines other 'Big Four' countries - the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia - in terms of overall interest. Germany and Ireland follow closely, securing fifth and sixth places respectively.
The survey also indicates a shift in students' preferences, with 65% only considering Canada and five other countries. Only 35% are looking at destinations outside the top six. This trend suggests a growing focus on established educational hubs. Despite the competition, Canada's appeal continues to grow, with a 2% increase in those 'very interested' and a 4% rise in those 'moderately interested' compared to the previous year.
