The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt recently hosted an open day, offering visitors a unique insight into the world of customs. The event, which showcased the workings of various enforcement units, including Financial Control Schwarzarbeit, the Control Unit Traffic Routes, and the customs dogs, was deemed a great success.

In her opening speech, Franziska Schubert, head of the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt, emphasized the crucial role of customs in Germany's security, state financial capacity, crime fighting, and citizen, economic, and environmental protection.

Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the daily work of customs, participate, and converse with staff. Topics covered during the day included tax collection, species protection, customs duties, import and export clearance of goods, traffic and consumption taxes, smuggling, black labor combat, customs' own inspection service, punishment of criminal offenses, and administrative offenses.

The event also highlighted the Main Customs Office Schweinfurt's commitment to training and education. On March 2025, 23 new junior staff started their studies in the higher service at the Hauptzollamt Schweinfurt, indicating that the offering of higher education or junior staff training began or was active by that date. The Main Customs Office Schweinfurt continues to offer training and study places in the coming years.
