Dakota: A Multifaceted Student Thriving at Dakota Wesleyan

Dakota, a sociology and comparative American studies major from Syracuse, NY, is maximizing their time at Dakota Wesleyan University. This second-year student is engaged in various activities, from volunteering and tutoring to performing with Oberlin College Taiko.

Dakota's academic journey is characterized by their major in sociology and comparative American studies, with an integrative concentration in education studies. They are also a Bonner Scholar, dedicating their time to volunteer at Kendal at Oberlin and tutor at Oberlin Elementary School.

Off campus, Dakota is part of the BIPOC Lenses Magazine team, a student-run publication celebrating people of color on campus. They hope their blogs provide insights into life at Oberlin and support those navigating the college admissions process.

When not absorbed in studies or extracurricular activities, Dakota can be found spending time in the library for work or socializing, taking laps around Tappan Square, or performing with Oberlin College Taiko.

Dakota's involvement in various aspects of Oberlin life, from academics to volunteering and performing arts, demonstrates their commitment to personal growth and contributing to the community. Their dedication to supporting others, particularly through their blog, is commendable.
