She has been praised for going above and beyond for her students, including helping a student with speech therapy gain confidence. Her dedication and hard work have not gone unnoticed, with Richardson receiving a staggering 19,834 votes out of 83,000 cast, demonstrating her popularity among her community.
As the winner of the Gold Star Teacher Award, Richardson received a prize pack worth over $7,000. This included a $2,000 personal grant for her classroom and a $1,000 donation to St. Mary's School. The award is presented in partnership with The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati and celebrates the hard work and dedication of local educators like Richardson.
