Design undertaking of an educational center focused on climate change in Madagascar by experts

Madagascar is taking significant strides in addressing climate change, with the assistance of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN). Recently, CTCN experts from ENDA Energie and Bureau de Mise à Niveau visited Antananarivo, Madagascar, to facilitate the creation of a technology development and educational centre on climate change.

The centre aims to provide trainings in climate change technologies, serve as a gathering place for specialists and researchers, and enable access to data on climate change and climate technologies. The centre is part of Madagascar’s efforts to combat climate change and its impacts.

During their mission, the experts held consultations with key stakeholders to collect detailed information for the development of a response plan. The response plan is currently being prepared by CTCN for the first submission of Madagascar’s request.

Photos from the CTCN experts' mission have been taken and may offer a glimpse into the expertise and professionalism of the experts involved, as well as the collaboration between CTCN and Madagascar in establishing the centre. The photos may also show the experts during their discussions about the development of the response plan, and the various locations visited during the mission, such as potential sites for the centre.

The photos will contribute to the transparency and accountability of the mission's activities and the development of the climate change technology centre in Madagascar. They will likely be used to illustrate the progress and activities of the mission in media reports and official communications.

At present, the most recent documents and activities related to the CTCN focus broadly on technology cooperation, capacity building, and climate change technology transfer at regional and global levels. However, no direct reference to an educational centre or technology development hub specifically in Madagascar has been found in the latest official CTCN documentation or UNFCCC materials.

For detailed project status, direct inquiries with CTCN or Madagascar’s relevant ministries may be required. The centre is intended to be a significant initiative in Madagascar, serving as a site for the exchange of knowledge and expertise on climate change technologies and research. The centre will also provide a platform for the country to address climate change and its impacts, in line with global efforts to combat this pressing issue.

  1. The climate change technology center being developed in Madagascar, with the aid of the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), will offer educational opportunities in environmental science, focusing on climate change researchers and specialists, promoting learning and innovation in the field.
  2. The center, part of Madagascar's broader strategy to combat climate change, aims not only to advance climate change technologies but also to provide a hub for the exchange of knowledge, fostering education, and self-development among Malagasy professionals and contribute to the global initiative against climate change.
