DLR & Uni Summer School: Hands-On Aviation Experience for Students

The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Institute of Flight Guidance (IFF) at Braunschweig University of Technology are joining forces to host the DLR_Uni_Summer_School. Supported by seven aviation-focused universities, this event offers a unique networking opportunity for students, with over 30 participants expected from September 10th to 14th, 2018.

The Summer School, hosted by Professor Peter Hecker from IFF, provides a hands-on experience in aviation. Students will conduct experiments in a Dornier Do 128-6 research aircraft, call sign 'D-IBUF', and participate in simulations. The program offers a behind-the-scenes look at various institutes and practical flight trials at the research airport in Braunschweig-Wolfsburg. Participants will collect and analyze data on flight characteristics and performance during the flight trials, gaining a deeper understanding of aviation.

Professor Hecker expressed enthusiasm for the high student interest in the Summer School, which aims to introduce students to new aspects of aviation through practical experiences.

The DLR_Uni_Summer_School, a collaborative effort between DLR, IFF, and six other aviation universities, offers students an immersive learning experience. From September 10th to 14th, 2018, over 30 students will participate in experiments, simulations, and practical flight trials, providing them with a unique insight into the world of aviation.
