Early Childhood Fun Fest to take place at Randolph Park on Friday, coordinated by Ready Covington
The 2022 Read Ready Covington Early Childhood Fun Fest is set to take place on Friday, June 20, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the David Housley Pavilion in Randolph Park, located at Prospect Avenue and E. 10th Street. This exciting event, organized by Read Ready Covington, promises a fun-filled afternoon for families with young children, aged six years and under.
Hillview Farms and Ms. Kim from NKCAC HeadStart will be bringing a variety of animals to the event, adding an extra touch of excitement for the little ones. The Fun Fest will also feature Animal Adventures, which includes Hillview Farms' petting zoo and Ms. Kim's bunnies from NKCAC HeadStart.
The event will offer a Mobile Learning Adventure (MLA), a travelling exhibit, part of PNC Grow Up Great, leading families through different activities. The MLA includes a Match Board, Making Choices Disc Run, Costume Wall, and a Passport Book for families. Additionally, families can participate in the Funshine-hosted Box Play activity, allowing children to build, knock over, and redesign cardboard boxes.
The James E. Biggs Early Childhood Center will host the Keep the Beat activity, where children can make music with pots, pans, utensils, and drumsticks. The Fun Fest is aimed at helping Covington children get a strong start in their school careers.
Director Mary Kay Connolly mentioned that the event was moved to offer developmentally appropriate activities and better prepare children for the school year. To ensure a smooth experience for all, free Family Guides provided by the Kentucky Department of Education will be available, while supplies last.
Pizza, popcorn, and beverages will be available for free at the event, sponsored by NKCAC HeadStart, Read Ready Covington, and Kroger. The Fun Fest offers engaging activities, learning, and community spirit, making it a perfect outing for families in the Covington area.
