My usual evening news session barely lasts 30 minutes — that's my limit nowadays. Watching the continuous stream of tragedies has become too much to bear. When the story of Las Vegas unfolded, I felt shocked, saddened, and numb.

Natural disasters and human-made horrors; we've been served a heaping plate of it, leaving many seeking guidance and wisdom. But, in this tumultuous period, I offer a glimpse of what keeps me going.

Instead of dwelling on despair, I try to focus on the countless individuals banding together in unity to support each other. Heroes have emerged from the ruins. I choose to celebrate this goodness because it's what brings me solace.
