Faculty Member from IT Department Claims Victory in Our Site's Foundation Venture Honors

John Lloyd Rojo, a faculty member at Bukidnon State University's College of Technologies - Information Technology Department, has been honoured with the prestigious title of the Top 1 Outstanding Venture Awardee at the WEN Ignite Program. His venture, BXSafety, was recognised for its scalability, social impact, and local relevance.

BXSafety is a venture that focuses on addressing workplace safety challenges, particularly in environments where occupational hazards are prevalent. Rojo created BXSafety with the aim of improving safety protocols and reducing accidents through innovative solutions. These may involve technology-driven safety tools or comprehensive safety management systems.

The WEN Ignite Program, held from June 10-19, 2025, is designed to help educators incorporate entrepreneurship into classroom instruction. During the program, Rojo emphasized the importance of combining technology and entrepreneurship in teaching to prepare students for industry and innovation.

Apart from Rojo, other faculty members from BukSU also participated in the Foundation's Faculty Development Program. Jona Celle Bustamante, a faculty member from the College of Business, was recognised as a Fully Certified Entrepreneurship Educator. Dr. Regie C. Medidas and Samantha O. Vega, also from the College of Business, both earned Applied Proficiency in Entrepreneurship Education.

Rojo’s goal is to help students build practical skills and cultivate a technopreneurship mindset, empowering them to launch their own startups in the future. He expressed his intention to integrate more innovative, real-world approaches into his teaching, specifically for BSIT and BSEMC-DAT students.
