FEYMS Discusses Nurturing Young Journalists in Primorye

The second Far Eastern Youth Media Summit (FEYMS) hosted a discussion titled 'Media Leaders of Primorye: Uniting Talented and Caring'. The event focused on nurturing young journalists and the significance of media processes in their development. Ulyana Zhiullo, founder of the 'Mediacontent Ulyana Zhiullo' Academy, participated and highlighted the importance of using phones as learning tools.

The discussion, moderated by Sergey Bulakh, head of the Higher School of Cinema and Television at VWGU, explored various aspects of raising young journalists. Svetlana Bychkova, a supplementary education teacher, emphasized the need to expose children to the breadth and diversity of media processes to foster versatile media leaders.

Tatyana Nikitchenko, head of the 'League of Young Journalists,' suggested showcasing children's work through festivals, competitions, and media forums to stimulate initiative and ideas. Elena Ardalyanova, deputy chairman of the Primorsky branch of the Union of Journalists of Russia, advocated for a systematic approach to educating young media leaders, combining theory with practice. Asya Efimova, curator of educational programs at the 'SHUM' Center for Youth Media Development, stressed the importance of practical training and real cases in media education.

The 'Media Leaders of Primorye' discussion at the FEYMS underscored the need for a holistic approach to nurturing young journalists. It highlighted the importance of exposing children to media processes, combining theory with practice, and encouraging initiative. Ulyana Zhiullo's emphasis on using phones as learning tools added a contemporary perspective to the conversation.
