Unveiled New and Previously Unveiled Personages - Freshly emerged and recognized personalities elucidated their stands.

Brace yourself, Marvel junkies, 'cause the Marvel Universe is getting even more intricate! If you've been keeping up with the film series, you're probably well-acquainted with the characters from "Captain America: Brave New World." With so many Marvel releases in recent years, it's easy to lose track, especially when the MCU spills over to the smaller screens of our homes. And if that weren't enough, the new "Captain America" movie, slated for a February 13 release, introduces a cast change after a tragic on-screen death.

So, who's who, and which familiar Marvel movie faces are sticking around for this latest installment? Let's dive in!

"The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" sets the stage for a new Marvel adventure

The upcoming "Captain America: Brave New World" is a direct continuation of the 2021 Marvel series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," available on Disney+. In case you need a refresher, Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) squared off against a militant group that gained superhuman powers through that infamous serum called the Super-Soldier Serum. You might remember that this same serum turned ordinary Steve Rogers into the formidable Captain America.

Steve Rogers hung up his Vibranium shield for good in "Avengers: Endgame," but who would pick up the mantle in the MCU? As we saw at the end of "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," the answer was clear: Steve Rogers' trusty sidekick, Sam Wilson/Falcon, would slip into Captain America's iconic role.

In "Captain America: Brave New World," Wilson has gained a new sidekick of his own: Joaquin Torres (Danny Ramirez), sporting his very own flight suit. Known for his role in "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," Torres continues his journey as the new Falcon in the film.

And if you've spotted Isaiah Bradley in the trailer, you're not alone. Played by Carl Lumbly, Bradley is yet another Super-Soldier, making his appearance in the Korean War.

Harrison Ford steps up to the plate

Sadly, beloved actor and Oscar winner William Hurt passed away in 2022, leaving a void in the Marvel universe. Hurt played Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, who first appeared as a general in "The Incredible Hulk" (2008), and later climbed the ranks to Secretary of State and then President in "Captain America: Brave New World."

With Hurt's untimely departure, Harrison Ford got a chance to carry on the late actor's Marvel legacy. And what a fitting legacy it is! Ford will take over as Thaddeus Ross, but that's not all: He's set to become the Red Hulk, true to the superhero's name. And not just in name, but in deed too, as the 82-year-old Ford handled the motion capture work for his new Marvel character.

New faces join the Marvel family

Joining Ford in "Captain America: Brave New World" are a few fresh faces, including Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns, also known as the villainous The Leader, and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Thaddeus Ross's daughter. Rising talent Shira Haas will also make her MCU debut as Ruth Bat-Seraph, a former Black Widow and Israeli-American government official.

Last but not least, Giancarlo Esposito, known for his work in "Breaking Bad" and "Better Call Saul," joins the cast as the villainous Sidewinder.

The intertwining stories and diverse cast of characters in "Captain America: Brave New World" leave little doubt that the Marvel Universe will continue to captivate fans for years to come. So grab your popcorn, marvel enthusiasts – it's time to dive into this brave new world!

I'm not expecting any updates on William Hurt's character in the upcoming "Captain America" movie due to his unfortunate passing.

In light of Hurt's departure, I'm intrigued to see how Harrison Ford will portray Thaddeus Ross and the Red Hulk in the film.
