German Customs Promotes Inclusion With 'Shift Change' Action Day

The German customs service is currently accepting applications for training and dual study programmes starting in September 2026. The main customs offices are open for applications until October 15, 2025. Meanwhile, today marks the nationwide 'Shift Change' action day, where people with and without disabilities swap workplaces to learn about each other's environments. Dr. Armin Rolfink, President of the General Customs Administration, participated in the event, highlighting the customs service's commitment to inclusion.

Customs officers from the main office in Potsdam recently visited the DRK Behindertenwerkstätten Potsdam gGmbH's workshop for people with disabilities. This exchange provided insights into the work of both institutions. In the coming days, employees of participating workshops will have the chance to learn about the customs service's work during a return visit.

The customs service is actively promoting its career opportunities. Interested candidates can find more information on their official career website, www.zoll-karriere.de, or by following them on social media. This year, the customs service is involved in 'Shift Change' at 19 main customs offices across Germany, demonstrating their long-standing commitment to the event.

The customs service is open to applicants with disabilities or equal status, ensuring that workplaces are generally suitable for people with handicaps. By participating in events like 'Shift Change' and offering workplace visits, the customs service fosters understanding and inclusion within its ranks, reflecting its commitment to diversity and equal opportunities.
