Hessia's Career Mentoring Project Aids 400 Youth in Apprenticeship Search
The career mentoring project in Hessia has seen great success this year, with nearly 400 young people benefiting from its training offers. The project, funded by the Hessian Ministry of Social Affairs and Integration, and supported by the EXIST program through Gateway TH Köln, provides individual support to young people seeking apprenticeship positions.
A recent highlight was the 'Fit for Job Interviews' training held at the Elisabeth-Selbert School in Zierenberg. Ten volunteer career mentors, who are well-prepared for their task through regular further training, guided 64 students in presenting themselves confidently and persuasively for apprenticeship positions in real interview scenarios. The mentors, who enjoy their commitment, provide valuable feedback on application materials and personal appearance, ensuring the young people are fully equipped for their interviews.
The project offers support in 'tandems', allowing young people to receive individual guidance throughout their search for apprenticeship positions. This year, students from main and secondary school classes, as well as BUA classes, have all benefited from this comprehensive support.
The career mentoring project, with its dedicated mentors and comprehensive training offers, has proven to be a valuable resource for young people in Hessia. The project's success is a testament to the positive impact it has on the young people's future prospects, and its continued funding and support are crucial for its continued success.
