The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) had a record-breaking academic year in 2024-25, with a significant number of graduates and credentials awarded.

During this period, KCTCS awarded over 14,000 credentials such as certificates, diplomas, and associate degrees. This represents a critical contribution to the state’s economy by supplying skilled workers and advancing technical education pathways.

The system also graduated 9,823 students, reflecting growth in student attainment. This number, too, reached an all-time high since 1998.

KCTCS, composed of 16 community colleges and more than 70 campuses, is a vital part of Kentucky’s educational landscape. It facilitates career and technical education aligned with valid industry certifications, supporting both student success and economic development at scale.

The Spring 2025 semester was particularly noteworthy, setting new records with colleges awarding 23,313 credentials and graduating 13,468 students.

KCTCS President Ryan Quarles stated that these milestones demonstrate a commitment to a better future for students, families, and the state. He emphasised that each credential awarded by KCTCS represents a step toward a stronger workforce and more resilient economy.

The official graduate and credential counts will be submitted to the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education next month. However, the numbers align with the latest reporting from institutional updates and statewide education summaries available as of mid-2025.

Enrolling more than 110,000 students annually, KCTCS consists of a network of regional colleges and a system office in Versailles, serving communities in every region of Kentucky.

In summary, KCTCS’s 2024-25 academic year was marked by a substantial number of graduates and credentials awarded, demonstrating the system’s advancing role in accessible, career-focused education in Kentucky. Each credential awarded by KCTCS is a stepping stone towards a stronger workforce and more resilient economy.
