Indian Prairie District 204 Boosts Bus Reliability and Parent Communication with Tyler Drive Tablets
Indian Prairie School District 204, which operates nearly 300 vehicles on over 1,200 routes, has seen significant improvements in bus service reliability and parent communication. This is thanks to their collaboration with Tyler Technologies and the leadership of Brad Hall, the district's leader of support units.
The district began using Tyler Drive tablets in the 2018-2019 school year to aid drivers and enhance parent communication. These tablets offer turn-by-turn voice navigation, reducing driver distraction and enhancing student safety. They also provide real-time GPS tracking, helping the district identify and address inefficiencies.
Automatic updates in Tyler Drive sync with the district's parent app, providing instant notifications about route changes. This has led to a substantial improvement in on-time performance, jumping from 80.02% to over 97.50%. The district has also worked with state agencies to establish best practices for using these tablets safely and has coordinated with the State Board of Education on legislation to make driver tablet purchases reimbursable.
Brad Hall and Indian Prairie School District 204's partnership with Tyler Technologies has resulted in notable advancements in bus service reliability and parent communication. With the implementation of Tyler Drive tablets, the district has significantly improved on-time performance, enhanced safety, and kept parents well-informed.
