Yakutia Empowers Women with "Working Yakutia. Progress" Program

The republic of Yakutia is taking significant steps to improve the economic and social status of women in the region. The "Working Yakutia. Progress" personnel program has been launched, aiming to provide women with the necessary support to find employment, start businesses, and address psychological challenges that may arise during this transition.

The program, designed for women in Yakutia, focuses on three key areas: employment support, entrepreneurship, and psychological support.

In the realm of employment, the program assists women in securing jobs that match their skills and are in line with the local market needs in Yakutia. Over the past years, the number of people employed in the economy has increased by more than 30,000, suggesting the program's effectiveness in placing women in suitable positions.

For those seeking to start their own businesses, the program offers guidance and resources. Within the "Woman of the Village. Time to Act." project, 461 women found jobs, and 157 Yakutian women started their own businesses, demonstrating the program's success in fostering entrepreneurship.

Recognizing the importance of mental health in achieving sustained success, the program also provides psychological support. Women can access counseling or similar services to help them overcome barriers such as stress, confidence issues, or social challenges that can impact their employment or business initiatives.

Last year, the region tested the project "Woman of the Village. Time to Act." in eight agricultural districts, which also saw the establishment of women's clubs in these territories. The program's goals were exceeded by two times, indicating a positive impact on the local community.

The national project "Personnel" also offers free training for the unemployed and other categories of citizens in the region, with 89 in-demand programs available. This initiative complements the "Working Yakutia. Progress" program by providing additional opportunities for skill development and career advancement.

Svetlana Gorushinskaya, the head of the State Employment Committee, is leading the charge in implementing these programs to empower women in Yakutia. The personnel program "Working Yakutia. Progress." is being re-launched, covering all districts of the republic, further expanding its reach and impact.
