The Werner-von-Siemens-Realschule in Germany is gearing up for a special milestone as it celebrates its 65th anniversary. Two former students, Andreas Merten and Dirk Sauerborn, are embarking on a unique journey to mark the occasion.

The duo will embark on a 265-kilometer sponsored bike ride from the school in Lower Saxony to Lenthe, the birthplace of Werner von Siemens, the school's namesake. Each kilometer of the journey can be purchased for 6.50 euros, with the proceeds going to the school's support association.

The school, which holds the distinction of being "a school without racism - a school with courage," is encouraging donations. Donors can transfer funds with the reference "Lenthe" to the IBAN: DE39300501100019125681 of the association of friends and supporters of the Werner-von-Siemens-Realschule e.V.
