Landshut University Gets 2025 Boost: 15 Backers Chip In €250-€1000
Landshut University has received a significant boost in 2025, with 15 companies, institutions, and municipalities contributing between 250 and 1000 euros each. The university president, Prof. Dr. Michaela Wirtz, expressed gratitude for the support, which will bolster the core areas of teaching, research, and transfer.
The 'Award for Good Teaching' at Landshut University benefited twice over from these donations, receiving 1000 euros each time. The Friends of the University, an association with over 200 members, played a crucial role in this support. They contribute annually between 20,000 and 30,000 euros through membership fees, donations, and other contributions. In 2025, the total collection amounted to around 7,600 euros, administered by the Friends of the University and earmarked for specific projects at the university.
Among the supporters was the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Lower Swabia, a public institution under public law, typically associated with the respective regional state government.
The university president emphasized the importance of these contributions, stating that they provide more freedom to fulfill Landshut University's mission and return to society. The university looks forward to continuing this partnership with its supporters.
