Latin America's Gathering for Web3 and Cryptocurrencies: Blockchain.RIO 2025

Blockchain.RIO, Latin America's largest and most influential event for blockchain, Web3, and digital finance, is gearing up for its 2025 edition. Scheduled to take place from the 5th to the 7th of August in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the event promises to be an exciting gathering of over 20,000 attendees, including 410+ speakers and 70+ sponsors.

The three-day event will bring together leaders, startups, and regulators for educational sessions, networking, and business opportunities. Francisco Carvalho, CEO and founder of Blockchain.RIO, describes the summit as an ecosystem connecting innovation, regulation, and education, creating real business opportunities.

Blockchain.RIO 2025 will take place at Casa Camolese and Expo Mag, uniting a diverse audience with a shared interest in the future of decentralised technologies. The event will cover topics such as blockchain, tokenization, AI, digital assets, and decentralized finance (DeFi), catering to over 30 audience profiles.

One of the highlights of Blockchain.RIO 2025 will be a new Spanish-language track, aiming to engage Latin American markets. This initiative is part of Blockchain on the Road, an initiative that will reach 17 universities across 12 Brazilian cities, impacting approximately 2,500 students by June 2025. These events, hosted by institutions like UFOP and UNISO, will focus on blockchain's applications in digital transformation and entrepreneurship.

Blockchain.RIO 2025 will also feature the Blockchain Forum Latam, an initiative aimed at fostering innovation and regional ties. The summit will delve into topics like stablecoins, regulation, tokenization, sustainability, and interoperability. Notable speakers include Silvio Pegado of Ripple, who will participate in discussions about stablecoins and cross-border payments.

Brazil is noted for its leadership in fintechs within Latin America, and the 2024 Smart Summit, a past event, featured curated digital finance agendas. The country's position as a Web3 leader is further evidenced by the attendance of delegations from countries like Argentina, El Salvador, and Panama at Blockchain.RIO.

The Chainalysis Global Crypto Adoption Index indicates that Latin America, including Brazil, has a 9.1% share of global crypto activity. This makes Brazil an ideal location for a summit that aims to shape a decentralized future.

Blockchain.RIO has cemented its status as Brazil's premier Web3 gathering, drawing thousands annually. With its focus on education, networking, and business opportunities, it promises to be an event not to be missed for anyone interested in the future of blockchain and digital finance.
