The World Sailing Academy, a free online platform launched on June 17, 2025, is set to evolve and grow over the coming months, with new courses and content being added regularly. This development aligns with World Sailing’s Ready for the Future 2025-2029 strategy, aiming to support both emerging sailing nations and experienced Member National Authorities.

Users can sign up for the academy by completing a Google form and receiving a login link via email. Once signed up, they can access the academy and courses from their dashboard, benefiting from a self-paced learning feature that caters to diverse time zones and needs. The platform provides an opportunity for sailors working remotely or relying on Starlink at sea to connect with marine news and develop sailing skills.

The World Sailing Academy offers a wealth of resources and news to the global sailing community, covering various aspects of the sport. These range from women in sailing, para-inclusive activities, sustainability, coaching, anti-doping, safeguarding, and support for race officials. The academy's resource hubs offer tools for learning, including hubs for women in sailing, children's sailing programs, conservation within the America's Cup, and more.

In addition to these existing offerings, the academy will soon introduce new courses focusing on key areas. These include Race Officials Support, Environmental Sustainability, Youth Development, Para Sailing, Inclusive Coaching, Technical Coaching, and Event Accessibility Planning. The upcoming courses will delve into detailed modules such as Para Classification Fundamentals, Inclusive Coaching, pre-Technical Coaching Course requirements, and Event Accessibility Planning.

World Sailing is committed to keeping the academy relevant, responsive, and inclusive by collaborating with the sailing community and experts across the sport. The academy also offers certification programs for recognizing achievement and supporting career progression. To ensure the well-being of those involved in World Sailing events, World Sailing recommends that all participants take the Safeguarding in Sport course.
