"Opt for reading books as an alternative to consulting a psychologist."
On August 19, at 7:00 PM, the educational project Vita Nuova is organizing a thought-provoking event in Krasnodar - "Litrazgon". This event will delve into the intriguing question of whether books can serve as a substitute for therapy, among other literary and psychological topics.
Taking place at the "Charlie" bookstore located at 58 Kommunarov Street, the discussion will be led by Elena Khomukhina, a philologist, and Ksenia Luganskaya, a psychologist. The cost of participation is 500 rubles, and prior registration is required.
As the interest in bibliotherapy, the practice of using reading as a tool to support mental health and emotional well-being, continues to grow, this event promises insightful discussions on how literature intersects with psychology, the limits of self-help through reading, and how storytelling can foster healing.
While literature can help individuals better understand their own emotions and experiences, and even provide solace during difficult times, it's important to note that books are not a complete replacement for professional therapy. They can, however, complement therapeutic work or serve as a valuable resource when therapy is not accessible.
The "Litrazgon" event will also include jokes about the organisers and their lives, adding a touch of humour to the discussion.
In addition to the "Litrazgon" event, an exhibition dedicated to urban environments, their paradoxes, and visual folklore is taking place in Krasnodar until August 31. If you're interested in learning more about bibliotherapy or tips on selecting therapeutic books, feel free to ask!
