Palatine College Elisabeth von der awarded the title of "Healthy School"
The Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg has been honoured with the title of a "Healthy School" in the Wittekindskreis, in recognition of its commitment to promoting health and wellbeing among students and staff.
Health is considered a crucial prerequisite for successful learning, personal development, and social participation. Recognizing this, the Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg has been focusing on various health-related topics, such as eating disorder prevention, substance abuse prevention, relaxation and exercise, first aid, and healthy international cuisine.
The school has also been actively involved in implementing health promotion and prevention activities, with the support of the "Healthy Schools in the Wittekindskreis" program, which has been active for nine years. Pascal Kramer, a sports scientist and trainer in the "link moves" program, was present at the certification.
In addition to the certification, teachers at the Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg received a health day focusing on nutrition counseling, resilience, time management, workplace ergonomics, and individual diagnostics.
Renata Lleshi, Nadine Passarger, and Patrik Kasparak presented the award to teacher Monika Heinis. Schools that demonstrate exceptional engagement in health promotion activities receive this prestigious certificate.
The "Healthy Schools" program offers free individual and group offers for students and teaching staff. Schools interested in participating in the program for the current school year can contact the Gesundheitskonferenz business office or project leader Renata Lleshi for more information.
It's important to note that not all children and young people are taught the importance of maintaining their health and taking action to improve it. The Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg's recognition by the Arbeitskreis Gesunde Schule Tirol, which coordinates health promotion programs in schools, serves as a reminder of the vital role schools play in teaching and promoting health.
This year, in addition to the Elisabeth-von-der-Pfalz-Berufskolleg, several other schools will also receive the "Healthy School" recognition. For further information and registration, one can contact the Gesundheitsreferentin or Gesundheitsreferent (health coordinator) at BVAEB in Innsbruck via the email [email protected] or phone +43 50405-28520.
