Review of Books 4-6 in The School for Good and Evil Series by Sonam Chainani

Examining the latter portion of The School for Good and Evil series books, my delayed review is now available. I procrastinated in organizing the book reservations efficiently, leading to the extended completion time (due to my own lack of planning).

Review of Books 4-6 in The School for Good and Evil Series by Sonam Chainani

The School for Good and Evil series by Sonam Chainani, a popular fantasy saga, takes an intriguing turn in its latter half, as revealed in a recent review published under "Book Reviews".

## Plot Twists

The series delves deeper into the world of good and evil, with plot twists that challenge the reader's expectations. The role reversal between Sophie and Agatha, the protagonists, continues and intensifies, as they grapple with their true identities and the expectations imposed by their schools.

As the story progresses, secrets about the origins of the characters and the magical world are unveiled, casting doubt on the system that assigns students to Good or Evil. Loyalties shift, and moments of betrayal and reconciliation highlight the complexity of the friendship between Agatha and Sophie.

## Themes Explored

The series explores the gray area between good and evil, challenging the simplistic view of good versus evil. Characters struggle with inner conflicts, question societal definitions, and ultimately learn that people cannot be neatly categorized.

Identity and self-discovery are central themes, as Agatha and Sophie journey to discover who they truly are beneath the labels assigned by others. The influence of friendship, loyalty, trust, and the challenges of maintaining friendship in the face of adversity are also examined.

The consequences of choice are emphasized, with characters' choices shaping not only their own fates but the fate of the entire magical world. The series also critiques blind obedience to tradition and authority, encouraging readers to think critically about the rules and structures that govern their lives.

## Character Development

The focus is on Agatha and Sophie's inner conflict and self-discovery, as they face challenges that force them to confront their own desires, insecurities, and values.

## Ratings and Content Advisories

The review for the series contains content advisories for medium to medium-high levels of violence, low levels of romance, and low levels of language. The rating for individual books varies: Quests for Glory, Book 4 receives an 8/10, while A Crystal of Time, Book 5 and One True King, Book 6 receive a 6/10. The full series rating is 6/10.

## Notable Events

Tedros and Agatha join forces with Sophie and her students to prove the new heir's parentage and uncover his plans to destroy the Storian and the Woods Beyond. Upon their return to Camelot, they find it in poverty and facing opposition. The Snake's attacks spread to the Woods Beyond, and a sorcerer named the Snake murders one of the graduating class seniors at the School for Good and Evil.

## Cautions

The reviewer notes that the plot gets convoluted and many characters needlessly die by the end of the last book. It is recommended for those interested, but not highly recommended overall. The reviewer's March Newsletter and a review for Renegades Full Series are also available on the site.
