Staff Selection Commission Introduces Disclosure Scheme for Non-Recommended Candidates

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced a new initiative, the Disclosure Scheme, set to commence with results declared in November 2024. This scheme aims to provide transparency and extend employment opportunities for candidates who pass recruitment exams but do not make the final merit list 1.

Under this scheme, non-recommended candidates can voluntarily have their examination scores and personal details made public on the SSC website. This data will include the candidate's full name, father's/husband's name, date of birth, category, gender, educational qualifications, total marks obtained, ranking or merit position, complete postal address, email address, and other relevant details 1.

The disclosed information will be arranged by roll number and will remain accessible to the public for one year from the date of publication. It is important to note that only details of non-recommended candidates up to twice the number of vacancies notified for that exam will be published. Candidates who do not wish to have their details disclosed can opt out during the application process 1.

The Disclosure Scheme will not apply to Selection Post examinations. The SSC does not verify the authenticity of the disclosed data, and it is the responsibility of recruiters to validate the information before hiring 1.

This initiative is expected to create a talent pool for Public Sector Units (PSUs), autonomous bodies, and other recruiters who can consider these non-recommended candidates for positions, thereby helping them get noticed despite not being officially selected by the SSC 1.

A dedicated portal developed by the Government may also be used to integrate the disclosed information. Candidates are strongly encouraged to retain copies of their application forms and relevant documents for a minimum of three years 1.

This move aligns with the Government of India's directive to create a public database of qualified but non-recommended candidates, aiming to boost job prospects for such individuals 1.
