Sirius Station Renamed 'Science Park', Gets More Trains
Sirius' railway station 'Olympic Village' has been renamed to 'Science Park' due to its proximity to the Sirius Science and Technology University. The change was announced by Dmitry Plyushkin, head of the federal territory of Sirius, on September 23.
From October 1, the 'Science Park' station will see more frequent trains. Additional 'Lastochka' trains will run daily between Sochi and Sirius, stopping at the newly named station. This increased service will benefit students and staff of the nearby university, as well as visitors to the Sirius Special Economic Zone near Sochi.
The renaming of the station and the increased train services reflect the growing importance of the Sirius Science and Technology University and the wider Sirius Special Economic Zone. The changes aim to improve connectivity and accessibility in the region.
