Teachers to be appointed in additional numbers for schools in Yakutia region

Since 2020, the federal "Rural Teacher" program has been in operation in Yakutia, following the instruction of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This initiative aims to attract qualified teachers to rural schools, working settlements, and small towns across the region.
The program has been instrumental in bringing teachers from various regions of Russia to Yakutia. Some of the regions from which teachers have come include Tuva, Altai, Buryatia, Bashkortostan, Khabarovsk and Altai Krais, Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, Sakhalin, Voronezh Oblasts, and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. A total of 46 teachers have been sent to Yakutia schools under this program.
Neester Egorov, a physics and computer science teacher at School No. 9 named after R.V. Longukov in the Mirinsky District's Taas-Yuryakh, is one such teacher. He has been working under the "Rural Teacher" program for four years. Egorov shared that he was warmly welcomed by the school administration, colleagues, and students in Taas-Yuryakh.
The program offers financial incentives to participants who agree to work in rural areas for five years. Each winner of the "Rural Teacher" program in Yakutia will receive a one-time payment of 2 million rubles. Egorov mentioned that the program has opened new horizons for him and helped him realize his professional potential.
Egorov has seen children under his tutelage gain confidence, show interest in science, and participate in various competitions and olympiads. He stated that working in a rural school allows him to not only teach children but also be a life guide for them.
In 2025, the "Rural Teacher" program will be integrated into the federal "Teachers and Mentors" project of the new national "Youth and Children" project. Starting September 1st, 2025, the winners of the "Rural Teacher" program in Yakutia will commence work in the republic's schools.
Currently, 15 teachers under the age of 35 are working under the "Rural Teacher" program in Yakutia. Eleven educators have been announced as winners of the competitive selection for the "Rural Teacher" program in Yakutia for 2025.
Under the "Rural Teacher" program, 21 mathematics teachers, 15 Russian language and literature teachers, 15 biology and chemistry teachers, 10 English teachers, 6 physics and computer science teachers, 5 physics teachers, 5 mathematics and physics teachers, 3 history and social studies teachers, 2 mathematics and computer science teachers, and 1 primary school teacher have been sent to the republic's schools.
Yakutia has received 89 quotas under the "Rural Teacher" program since 2020: 19 in 2020, 16 in 2021, 15 in 2022, 22 in 2023, and 17 in 2024.

This program aims to support young teachers who move to rural areas to work, providing financial incentives and other benefits to encourage young specialists to take up positions in countryside schools.
