Werner von Siemens Realschule Celebrates 65th Anniversary with Jubilee Festival

On Saturday, June 28th, the Werner von Siemens Realschule in Germany marked its 65th anniversary with a festive celebration on the school grounds. The event, held under perfect weather, was a celebration of the school's rich history and its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.

The stage was the center of the festival, hosting a diverse program that included performances from the school band and teacher band, who kicked off the festivities with a lively rendition of the Tote Hosen song "Tage wie diese". Creative games and activities were available for visitors, providing an enjoyable experience for all.

The renewal of the award from the "School without Racism - School with Courage" network was celebrated on the stage. The school has been a member of this network since 2017, demonstrating its long-standing commitment to promoting a culture of respect and understanding.

Banners designed by students in religious education or practical philosophy classes were displayed during the festival, showcasing their creativity and thoughtfulness. Additionally, banners created by students on the theme "What does hope mean to you?" were also on display, offering a glimpse into the hopes and dreams of the school's young learners.

The Angel of Cultures is present in the school garden, symbolising the school's dedication to promoting cultural diversity. The symbols for each class are still on the walls of the school, a testament to the school's sense of community and tradition. Various project works by different classes were presented on tables, allowing visitors to gain insights into the school's academic life.

The visit of Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller and the principal, Alexander Schrimpf, added a sense of official recognition to the celebration. The school principal was pleased with the visit, acknowledging the support of the local community in the school's journey.

A balloon release activity took place during the festival, symbolising the release of hopes and dreams into the sky. As the balloons ascended, the school community looked forward to the summer holidays, but not before attending to their report cards.

The celebration was a testament to the school's vibrant spirit and its commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity, creativity, and academic excellence.
