TU Braunschweig Secures Record Third-Party Funds in 2023

TU Braunschweig has raised a significant amount of third-party funds in 2023, with each professorship securing an average of 588,800 €. This success places the university 9th among German institutions and sees it outperform its Lower Saxon counterpart, Hannover.

The university's research service team played a crucial role in this achievement, offering comprehensive support to scientists throughout the application process. TU Braunschweig's president credits this success to the institution's strategy of fostering interdisciplinary cooperation.

The funds, totalling 129,526,000 €, came from various sources, including the federal government, the German Research Foundation (DFG), industry and business, and the European Union. The majority of these funds were secured from engineering and natural sciences, reflecting the university's strengths in these fields.

This year's results represent a 1.24% increase from 2022, demonstrating a consistent upward trend in third-party funding at TU Braunschweig.
