UAE Announces Launch of Islamic Education Institute in Kyrgyzstan
The Islamic Academy in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan, was inaugurated on Monday under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The academy, built by the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation at a cost exceeding $5 million, is a pioneering educational model, according to Muhanna Obaid Al Muhairi, Deputy Director General of the foundation.
The academy, which was oversaw by H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aims to prepare future generations to face contemporary challenges with confidence and ethical foundations. It offers programmes both free of charge and on a fee-paying basis, supported by government grants and the financing of a delegation from the United Arab Emirates, which initiated the project.
The educational approach of the academy is inspired by the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and its mission is to act as a beacon of knowledge. The academy features modern classrooms and resources for university and postgraduate education, and its curriculum is designed to clarify authentic Islamic concepts while instilling values of tolerance, justice, and compassion.
The academy is expected to provide thousands of young people with valuable opportunities and foster cultural and intellectual exchange. President Japarov described the academy as a testament to the friendship between the UAE and Kyrgyzstan, and commended the UAE's humanitarian contributions. H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan also supported the initiative.
Classes at the academy are scheduled to begin this academic year. The institution is expected to prepare highly qualified staff, enhance educational competitiveness, and continue its mission to foster cultural and intellectual exchange. The academy's mission to act as a beacon of knowledge and its commitment to preparing future generations to face contemporary challenges with confidence and ethical foundations make it an exciting addition to the educational landscape of Kyrgyzstan.
