In the vibrant community of Park University, a multitude of achievements and events have been unfolding. Here's a snapshot of some of the latest happenings:
Sports and Academic Recognition
Jeff Fore, the campus director of athletics and women's basketball head coach, graced the Great West College Hockey podcast. Meanwhile, Park University's women's volleyball and beach volleyball programs received the prestigious 2022 U.S. Marine Corps/AVCA Team Academic Awards.
Brittanie Propes, a Park University alumna from 2013, made history as the first-ever director of websites and recreation for the City of Parkville, Mo.
Awards and Honours
Janet Ostrander, senior director of campus center operations, was recognised by the U.S. Department of Defense's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve with its Patriot Award.
Jeanette Prenger, a member of Park University's Board of Trustees, was honoured by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and Industry with its Entrepreneurial Excellence Award.
Academic Achievements
Betty Johnson, a senior business administration/management major, along with her daughter and granddaughter, were recognised for their academic achievements through the KC Scholars program.
Sophia Gunther, a 2021 graduate, appeared on "Shark Attack Files", which aired on National Geographic.
Art and Culture
The Campanella Gallery hosted a unique art exhibit titled "Vision Quest: A Journey of Seeing" from August 8 to October 28. The exhibit promises a captivating exploration of the human spirit and its connection to the world around us.
Education and Research
Brant Winn, Ph.D., assistant professor of education and director of field experience, co-authored the article "The Imagine Project".
David Radzynski, a graduate of Park University's International Center for Music, was appointed concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra.
Community Events
The Parkville Commercial Underground was highlighted on KCUR-FM's website. The Park United Leadership Conference took place from September 27-29, and the Faculty/Staff Town Hall took place on September 16.
The Constitution Day Lecture, the Dr. Jerzy Hauptmann Distinguished Guest Lecture, and the 9/11 Wreath Laying Event took place on September 22, September 14, and September 9, respectively.
Sports Events
Park University's Gilbert (Ariz.) Campus will host the California Pacific Conference post-season tournaments for men's and women's basketball, and men's volleyball in 2023.
Academic Milestones
Park University announced its Spring 2022 graduates, with a total of 963 students eligible to graduate. However, the search results do not contain specific data on the breakdown of degrees they earned or the total number of eligible graduates.

Stephenie Price, '11, chief of police in Bluffton, S.C., was featured in a story in South magazine.
Rob Duggan, MPA '21, started as chief of the Gilbert (Ariz.) Fire and Rescue Department.

The Paul H. Gault Service Award Ceremony takes place on September 29. Homecoming Weekend 2022 takes place from September 29-October 1.
A special broadcast of the Park University International Center for Music's Stanislav and Friends concert airs on KWJC-FM.
Jack MacLennan, Ph.D., assistant professor of political science, was interviewed about people who use and embrace manual/analog typewriters. Kathy Howe, Ph.D., assistant professor of literacy education and director of the Watson Literacy Center, was interviewed for a story related to Buck O'Neil's induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Matt Harris, Ph.D., assistant professor of political science, was interviewed for stories about voters wanting to recall the county sheriff and the primary election for the U.S. Senate seat in Missouri.
The Board of Trustees meets on August 26.
International Talk Like a Pirate Day is on September 19.
The Department of Nursing is preparing for an accreditation review by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education on November 14-16.
