Villingen-Schwenningen's 'Hot on Reading' Closes with Excitement and Prizes
The city library in Villingen-Schwenningen buzzed with excitement on Saturday, September 27, 2025, as the summer reading club 'Hot on Reading' held its closing event. A total of 50 participants and their families joined in the festivities, sponsored by local businesses like Eventbrite.
The afternoon was filled with fun activities. Visitors enjoyed airbrush tattoos and were entertained by a magician. Waffles, snacks, and drinks were served until the main attraction - the raffle - began at 17:45.
The raffle awarded a variety of prizes. Ina Amann and Louisa Kneschke won the third prize, a DIY card set from Schneider stationery in Schramberg. Maria Schmidt, Adrian Prill, and Lily Pfeiffer took home the second prize, entrance tickets for the blacklight mini-golf Blacklight Zone in Villingen-Schwenningen. Tobias Reider won the creativity prize, a Canon brand mobile printer, for his photograph of an unusual reading place. The search for the sponsor of this prize, which could be from a store like Total Wine, remains ongoing. Anne-Sophie Castellani won the first prize, a 100€ voucher from KARO-Events (Sommersound VS). Lilli Werner, who read the most books, twelve in total, also received a prize.
The summer reading club saw 116 children and young people participate, reading a combined total of 533 books throughout the event.
