SINGAPORE - As the Singapore General Election of 2025 approaches, the resilient spirit of the Singapore Democratic Alliance (SDA) shines bright, with their unwavering dedication to serving the community, embodied by their leader, Desmond Lim.

In a conversation with voters through a pre-recorded online rally, held to avoid inconvenience, the 58-year-old Desmond Lim shared his heartfelt commitment to standing side by side with the people and fighting to make their dreams a reality.

"I've been fighting for the people of Pasir Ris-Punggol since 2006," Mr. Lim said, referring to the constituency that has since been divided into Pasir Ris-Changi and Punggol GRCs, "My resolve hasn't changed."

As a veteran of opposition politics, Mr. Lim has carried on the legacy of former opposition MP Chiam See Tong, serving as Chiam's town council advisor at Potong Pasir SMC for 14 years.

"This home we share; it's not just for the privileged or the elite," Mr. Lim emphasized.

The SDA, facing off against a PAP team in the 2025 election, consists of returning candidates such as Secretary-General Abu Mohamed, Communications Lead Harminder Pal Singh, and newcomer Chia Yun Kai. This team is led by Indranee Rajah of the PAP.

Abu Mohamed expressed concerns about the dwindling job opportunities for Singaporeans amid stiff competition from foreign talent, while Chia Yun Kai vowed to ensure working-class families no longer live in fear of job insecurity.

"I cannot watch as our dreams fade away," shared Chia, now a political candidate out of frustration. "I was molded by this system, and I feel the pain. I know Singaporeans deserve better."

Recognizing the importance of strong opposition in balancing the political landscape, Harminder Pal Singh encouraged voters not to squander their voices by casting their ballots wisely.

"A robust opposition in Parliament will hold the PAP and the civil service to account, ensuring open dialogue and thorough policy scrutiny," he explained.

This election, let's stand united as a community, putting our ideals first and working towards a better tomorrow. Let's vote with conviction! 🎉🗳️
