Voting Advisory Tool for Münster City
The Municipal Election Navigator, a digital platform similar to the Vote-O-Mat, is set to make its debut in several cities across Germany. This innovative tool, designed to help voters understand and participate in municipal elections, has been developed in collaboration with various local media houses, universities, and the digital voting aid platform VOTO.
The University of Duisburg-Essen, along with cities such as Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, and Oberhausen, is one of the partners involved in this project. The initiative was also carried out in cooperation with ANTENNE MÜNSTER, the Aschendorff Media House, and the University of Münster, where Prof. Norbert Kersting led the project.
Cities like Münster, Bielefeld, and Paderborn will be the first to experience the Municipal Election Navigator, with Cologne set to follow shortly after. Users can access the platform via a mobile app or web browser, thanks to the technical platform provided by VOTO.
The Municipal Election Navigator works by asking voters 35 municipal political questions, and the answers provided are assigned to individual parties. At the end of the process, users will see which party most closely aligns with their statements.
This tool aims to make the voting process more accessible and informative for voters, helping them make informed decisions when casting their ballots in municipal elections. Stay tuned for more updates as the Municipal Election Navigator continues to expand across Germany.
