Whitney High School Earns Sixth National Blue Ribbon School Designation
Whitney High School in Cerritos, California, has once again been recognised as a National Blue Ribbon School, marking its sixth time receiving this prestigious award. The school was one of 356 schools nationwide and 33 in California to receive this honour in 2024.
ABC Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Gina Zietlow congratulated Whitney High School on its achievement, praising the school's exceptional performance. Principal Dr. Tuesday Stoffers expressed her pride in the school's team of teachers and staff, who have worked tirelessly to earn this recognition.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional achievements and dedication to improving student outcomes. Whitney High School was recognised in the Exemplary High Performing Schools category.
U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona made a statement about the National Blue Ribbon Schools Award, saying it is a testament to the exceptional achievements of students and educators at each of the recognised schools.
Whitney High School has a rich history of excellence, having previously received the National Blue Ribbon School award in 1986, 1990, 1997, 2008, and 2014. This latest recognition is a testament to the school's continued commitment to academic excellence.
