The initiative, spanning three months, focused on enhancing the research capabilities of university students and recent graduates in diabetes and related health fields.

The program, organised under the guidance of DDI's expert scientific and medical teams, provided an immersive, hands-on training experience for the 36 participants. This year's event, known as Science Poster Day, was attended by Dr. Faisal Hamed Al-Refaei, acting DDI Director-General, who praised the quality of the presentations at the event.

Dr. Al-Refaei stated that DDI supports and nurtures emerging scientific talent, committing to providing a platform for participants to showcase their knowledge and practical skills gained during the internship. The participants presented a variety of research projects, each one a testament to the hard work and dedication put into the program.

The research projects focused on diabetes and related health issues, reflecting DDI's commitment to addressing the public health challenges in Kuwait. Dr. Al-Refaei expressed his belief that the participants represent the future of scientific innovation in Kuwait and beyond.

The annual internship program is an essential part of DDI's mission to inspire and prepare the next generation of healthcare and research professionals. By providing a supportive and collaborative research environment, DDI aims to strengthen students’ practical research skills and scientific understanding, building capacity in medical and scientific research careers relevant to diabetes and public health challenges in Kuwait.

As the internship program comes to a close, the participants leave with a wealth of knowledge and experience, ready to take on the challenges of the future and contribute to the advancement of scientific research in Kuwait and beyond.

The internship program, a vital part of DDI's mission, champions the development of healthcare and research professionals. By focusing on diabetes and related health issues, the participants gained practical skills and scientific understanding, preparing them for future advancements in medical-conditions research; particularly in health-and-wellness and education-and-self-development sectors.
