Zamboanga City reappoints 54 teachers within the Local School Board.

Zamboanga City takes a proactive approach to boost the education sector by rehiring 54 Local School Board (LSB) teachers, delivering quality education and backing city educators. In a move penning the renewal of employment until December 2025, Mayor John Dalipe, acting as LSB chairperson, set the stage for this initiative on May 16.

The City Hall Information Office confirmed the decision as part of a broader strategy to alleviate the enduring shortage of public school teachers and elevate education quality in elementary and secondary schools.

LSB teachers will be assigned to schools managed by the Department of Education (DepEd) with expenses funded by the local government. Salaries and benefits of these educators are sourced from the City Hovernment's Special Education Fund (SEF), generated through annual real property tax collections.

This renewal of employment emphasizes the City Government's commitment to delivering quality education, underscoring their unwavering support for the city's educators. Catch up on the latest news from Zamboanga here.
